Sultan Qaboos Institute For Teaching Arabic To Non-Native Speakers Receives 47 New Students

The Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers in Manah welcomed 47 students from various countries, including the United Kingdom, Russia, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Belarus, Uzbekistan, South Korea, El Salvador, India, Iran, Australia, and Kazakhstan on Sunday.

Located in the Wilayat of Manah within the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah, the institute also hosted 15 Arabic language instructors from several Uzbek universities, such as the University of Oriental Studies and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.

In addition to providing Arabic language instruction to both male and female non-native speakers and teachers, the institute offers a range of activities. These include lectures, educational excursions to historical and natural sites, Arabic calligraphy classes, art courses, and a program called “language partner” designed for individuals with similar interests.

The curriculum encompasses theories of second language acquisition, strategies for learning and teaching foreign languages, models for instructing Arabic to non-native speakers, teaching methodologies, the development of language assessments and questionnaires, dialogue sessions, and various practical applications.

The institute's program spans 8 weeks for non-native students and 4 weeks for non-native teachers.
