Muscat: On Monday, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion held a workshop aimed at exploring opportunities for advancing the exhibition industry in the Sultanate of Oman, aligning with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The workshop featured visual presentations that showcased key aspects of the exhibition sector from a private sector viewpoint, addressing the challenges faced by the industry and suggesting potential solutions.
Discussions included the role of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) committee responsible for exhibitions, conferences, and events, detailing the panel's initiatives to enhance the exhibition sector. Additionally, a visual presentation was provided on Qatar's experience in hosting significant events.
Working papers were presented on the importance of the "unified promotional identity of the Sultanate of Oman" in bolstering the exhibitions and conferences industry, particularly in enhancing Oman’s public image and improving the country’s competitiveness on both regional and international stages.
The workshop examined strategies for implementing the “Identity” within the exhibitions sector. It also featured a panel discussion focused on enhancing relevant procedures, legislation, and other methods to boost the competitiveness of the exhibition sector.
In conclusion, the workshop produced recommendations aimed at creating a practical roadmap for the development of the exhibition industry in the Sultanate of Oman.
These recommendations stressed the importance of reinforcing the Sultanate of Oman’s status as a premier regional hub for hosting conferences and events.
The event was attended by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, along with representatives from both the public and private sectors.
