Third International Frankincense And Medicinal Plants Forum Opens In Salalah

Salalah: Today marked the opening of the Third International Frankincense and Medicinal Plants Forum in Salalah. This three-day event is being organized by Dhofar University in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, and features the participation of researchers, experts, and specialists from 17 different countries.

The opening ceremony took place under the patronage of Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.

Additionally, an exhibition was launched at the forum, showcasing booths from various government entities, including the "Green Pharmacy" initiative.

It is important to highlight that the forum emphasizes the significance of Dhofar Governorate as a historical center for the production and trade of frankincense and medicinal plants. Furthermore, it seeks to leverage scientific research to promote sustainable development and enhance Oman’s standing in knowledge and innovation.
