Meeting With Governors Reviews Housing, Urban Planning Development Requirements

Muscat: Today, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is convening a meeting in Muscat with the governors to present action plans, address requirements, and promote direct communication to discuss strategic issues concerning the housing and urban planning sectors across Oman's various governorates.

The meeting addressed several important topics, such as digital transformation, the addressing system, structural masterplans, and the Omani building code guide. It emphasized efforts to enhance urban planning systems and improve the efficiency of services offered to citizens.

Additionally, the meeting featured discussion sessions on new real estate laws and regulations, particularly the Real Estate Regulation Law and the Real Estate Registry Law. These new regulations are viewed as a significant move towards standardizing the legislative framework, enhancing transparency, and safeguarding the rights of participants in the real estate market.

Moreover, the meeting reviewed updates on housing projects, the "Sorouh" masterplans, and the residential land distribution plan, along with issues related to illegal land holdings and the strategies for addressing them. This aligns with the principle of institutional partnership and aids in achieving family stability and balanced development across the governorates.
