STOMP Captivates Audiences At Royal Opera House Muscat

Muscat witnessed an extraordinary spectacle as the internationally renowned show, STOMP, took the stage at the Royal Opera House Muscat for three consecutive nights. With each performance drawing in a nearly sold-out crowd, this globally acclaimed production mesmerized audiences with its exceptional fusion of percussion, comedy, and theatrical brilliance.

Hailed by the esteemed New York Times as "Brilliant and very funny: theatre at its most seductive," STOMP captivated expatriates, locals, and visitors during its highly anticipated debut tour in the country.

For over three decades, STOMP has enthralled audiences across the globe, captivating more than 15 million people in 53 countries spanning five continents. From its humble origins, co-creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas ingeniously transformed everyday objects into musical instruments, elevating the ordinary to the extraordinary.

With its groundbreaking choreography and infectious rhythm, STOMP has garnered prestigious accolades, including the Olivier Award for Best Choreography and the New York Obie Award.

At the Royal Opera House Muscat, the talented ensemble of eight cast members showcased their mastery by utilizing unconventional instruments such as boots, bins, and even kitchen sinks, creating a symphony of rhythm and laughter that left the audience in awe.

The co-directors, Cresswell and McNicholas, expressed their delight in introducing STOMP to Oman for the first time. They highlighted the enthusiastic response from the Muscat audiences, making it another unforgettable performance at the Royal Opera House Muscat!

STOMP's triumphant debut in Muscat further solidifies the national opera house's reputation for showcasing top-notch entertainment. As the 2023/24 season nears its end, the opera house remains dedicated to delivering exceptional shows, such as Cirkopolis on May 3rd, 4th, and 5th, an Homage to Maria Callas featuring opera stars Sonya Yoncheva and Leo Nucci on May 15th, a collaboration of La Bohème with Opera MonteCarlo on May 16th and 18th, and Scheherazade by the Cairo Opera on May 23rd and 24th.
