Muscat: During the 5th session of the first annual convening of the 8th term, the State Council deliberated on the Draft Media Law, which was referred to it by the Council of Ministers.
Leading the session was Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.
In his address, the Chairman highlighted that the State Council thoroughly discussed the Draft Media Law during this session, in accordance with Article 49 of the Council of Oman Law. He also mentioned that the session covered various matters pertaining to the State Council's work.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the State Council's dedication in fulfilling its assigned responsibilities and expressed gratitude towards the members of the permanent and private committees for their valuable contributions.
Additionally, he emphasized the crucial role played by the Secretariat General of the State Council in providing comprehensive support to the Council.
The session also featured a comprehensive overview of the Draft Media Law.
Attending the session were the members of the State Council, along with the Secretary General.
