Sohar Fort Attracts More Than 1,000 Visitors During Eid Al-fitr Holiday

Sohar: The Fort of Sohar in the North Al Batinah Governorate experienced a significant surge in visitors during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, attracting over 1,170 individuals, including both citizens and residents.

Sultan Ali Al Muqbali, the Director of Sohar Fort Museum, noted that guests were particularly impressed by the fort's unique contents and architectural features, as well as its historical significance, which has been pivotal in various events throughout the centuries due to its advantageous location.

Constructed between the 13th and early 14th centuries, the fort is home to a museum that highlights numerous archaeological and historical elements from past eras, including the copper trade and Oman’s long-standing connections with Canton in China. The museum displays artefacts unearthed during archaeological digs within the fort and across various locations in Oman.
