Social Development Minister Briefed About Algerian Experience In Social Care

Algiers: Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, met on Tuesday with Dr. Soraya Mouloudji, Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women's Affairs of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, during her visit to the country.

The two ministers discussed social development experiences and projects. They explored methods to improve cooperation and exchange expertise in social care subjects such as children's rights, elderly care, and women's rights.

Dr. Laila traveled to the El Biar neighborhood of the Childhood Relief Foundation, where she learned about the care and welfare services provided to children of unknown parents and those lacking family support. She also listened to an account of social and educational rehabilitation programmes run by the foundation to guarantee the children's integration into society.

The minister took into account the Dély Ibrahim nursing home's experience. She was informed about the institutions' psychological health care programs for the elderly, as well as the overall Algerian experience in social development.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Laila delivered a statement in which she emphasized the need of strengthening Arab cooperation in social care and empowerment for vulnerable members of society. She also praised Algeria's expertise in holistic development and applauded institutional efforts to offer a safe haven for vulnerable children.

Aside from exploring Algeria's success in social welfare, women's empowerment, child care, and elderly wellness, the visit was motivated by a desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation, exchange knowledge, and develop social policies and relevant programs in both countries.
