Slight Dip In Visitors To Al Jabal Al Akhdar In 2023 Compared To 2022

Muscat: In 2023, the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate welcomed approximately 205,992 visitors, slightly lower than the 208,423 visitors recorded in 2022.

According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the breakdown of visitors by nationality is as follows: 102,241 Omanis, 13,430 Saudi tourists, 1,218 Kuwaiti visitors, 951 Emirati visitors, 554 Bahraini visitors, and 729 Qatari visitors. Additionally, there were 6,784 visitors from other Arab nationalities and 80,085 visitors from foreign nationalities.

The unique climate of the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar makes it an attractive tourist destination for both domestic and international travelers. It offers a wide range of entertainment and adventure activities, including heritage lodges, mountain camping, and scenic farm trails for exploration.

It is worth mentioning that there are a total of 20 existing and licensed hotel establishments in the Green Mountain State, with a classification of 3 to 5 stars. These include 9 hotels and resorts, one hotel apartment facility, two heritage lodges, and 8 guest houses. The combined number of rooms in these accommodations is 726, catering to various preferences and needs.
