Sayyid Badr, UN Secretary-General Discuss Developments In Regional, International Issues

New York: The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, engaged in a dialogue with the Foreign Minister of Oman, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In the course of their conversation, Guterres extended his commendations to the Sultanate of Oman, particularly to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, for their significant contributions towards enhancing global peace and security, as well as for their efforts in fostering dialogue and multilateral cooperation both regionally and internationally.

Conversely, Sayyid Badr conveyed his gratitude towards Guterres for his adept leadership of the United Nations, highlighting his appreciation for the Secretary-General's stance on supporting initiatives aimed at establishing justice and upholding international law and humanitarian law.

Furthermore, the discussion encompassed updates on various regional and international issues of mutual concern, with a particular focus on developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, as well as efforts to ensure a swift ceasefire and prevent further military escalation in the region.
