ROP Foils Another Major Drug Trafficking Attempt In Muttrah

Muscat: On Monday, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) reported the arrest of two Asian nationals in the Wilayat of Muttrah, located in the Muscat Governorate, on allegations of drug trafficking.

According to a statement from the Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, the suspects were apprehended following a surveillance operation that resulted in the confiscation of over 60 kilograms of crystal meth and hashish intended for distribution. Legal actions are currently being finalized against them.

This announcement follows the ROP's arrest of six Asian nationals in Muttrah in a different case on Sunday. During that operation, law enforcement seized more than 55 kilograms of narcotics, which included 32 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 23 kg of marijuana. Legal proceedings against those individuals are also in progress.
