Over 800 Omani Professionals Employed In Water Projects

Muscat— Nama Water Services has announced the creation of more than 800 new employment opportunities in project-related roles within supporting organizations, including consultants and contractors who are executing strategic projects throughout the Sultanate of Oman.

The announcement was made at a press briefing conducted now at the Main Water Monitoring and Control Center in the Wilayat of Bawshar.

This project fits with the company's objective to increase national workforce participation in important projects and assist Omanization initiatives in supporting businesses across sophisticated technical and administrative sectors such as health and safety, project management, surveying, and a variety of engineering disciplines.

These opportunities are part of ongoing strategic projects worth more than RO 1 billion that span numerous governorates and include the building and extension of water transmission and distribution networks.

According to Nama Water Services CEO Qais Saud Al Zakwani, these job listings represent the company's strategic goal of boosting national human capital, and he urged supporting firms to align recruiting directly with current project needs in the water and sanitation sectors.

He stated that the creation of over 800 new jobs by contractors and consultants working on Nama's projects represents a significant step forward in supporting employment efforts and expanding opportunities for Omani youth to develop their skills and contribute to important national projects.

He stated that new workers will receive practical experience through involvement in fieldwork and project implementation, increasing their capacity to help the sector's sustainability.

Eng. Abdullah Salim Al Rasbi, CEO of Development Projects at Nama Water Services, underlined during his speech that the new positions directly support the projects sector by incorporating competent Omani workers capable of immediate field participation. He stressed that these national talents contribute true value by not only meeting employment needs, but also by developing sophisticated technical skills and enabling knowledge transfer from experienced teams to young cadres, ensuring long-term performance and sector growth.

The positions available cover a wide range of technological and administrative domains, including project management, engineering (several disciplines), health and safety engineering, quantity surveying, consulting services, human resources, public relations, and logistical assistance. The recruitment plan mixes new graduates with seasoned experts to encourage cross-generational knowledge transfer.

These roles will be assigned to important projects such as the construction of water transit networks, the development of new water and sewage networks, and the installation of intelligent monitoring and control systems, which will increase sector efficiency and service quality.

The press briefing also addressed ongoing projects, including as strengthened water transmission lines, distribution networks, storage reservoirs, and other water infrastructure across governorates, with a total budget of more than RO 1 billion.
