Muscat: SalamAir, Oman’s budget airline, has unveiled three new services designed to enhance passenger flexibility and tailor travel experiences. Beginning in January 2025, travelers will have access to the Express Bag, Priority, and Online Check-In services through all SalamAir booking platforms.
In its effort to transform affordable travel, SalamAir is also rolling out a new fare structure that allows passengers to reduce expenses. As part of this initiative, travelers can save 1 OMR by choosing online check-in over the traditional airport check-in, which will come with an extra fee.
"Travelers should have the chance to lower their expenses and pay only for the services they require," stated Adrian Hamilton-Manns, CEO of SalamAir. "Our new online check-in feature marks the beginning of our journey toward offering more customizable travel options while keeping costs low."
New Service Offerings
1. Express Bag: This service ensures that passengers' checked baggage is among the first to arrive at their destination, significantly reducing wait times at baggage claim.
2. Priority: This option allows passengers to bring an additional 10kg of hand luggage, on top of the standard 5kg limit. It also includes priority boarding, guaranteeing access to overhead storage, and provides a dedicated check-in area for a smoother airport experience.
Commenting on the new offerings, Mr. Hamilton-Manns remarked, "These services are crafted to improve convenience and flexibility for our passengers. From expedited baggage delivery to priority boarding and check-in, SalamAir is dedicated to making travel more personalized and economical."
Through these enhancements, SalamAir seeks to elevate the flying experience for passengers while enabling them to customize their journeys according to their individual preferences. The airline’s updated offerings demonstrate its ongoing commitment to balancing affordability with superior service quality.
