Royal Academy Of Management Concludes Future Leaders Programme

Muscat: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has successfully wrapped up the Future Leaders Programme (FLP), a significant initiative that aligns with the strategic goals of Oman Vision 2040.

This programme was crafted to advance the nation’s sustainable development objectives and to enhance leadership skills among young Omanis. Its purpose is to provide them with the necessary competencies to thrive in a rapidly changing environment. This initiative embodies the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, aiming to nurture a new generation of proactive national leaders equipped with the innovative skills essential for shaping the future of Oman.

In partnership with Hamad Bin Khalifa University Qatar, GLOBIS, Matterz, and KAOSPILOT, the FLP focused on fostering a culture of institutional innovation among its participants, preparing them to adeptly manage swift changes and nurture Omani talent. The programme also aimed to enhance leadership skills, empowering participants to cultivate effective leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Furthermore, it highlighted the significance of innovation and promoting positive change within the workplace, ensuring that participants are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of their industries and communities.

Hilal Al Riyami, the Director of the Future Leaders Programme, articulated that the initiative embodies the academy’s commitment to nurturing young national leaders equipped with the skills to innovate and create a significant, positive influence within their communities. The programme specifically engaged 50 young Omanis from a range of public and private sectors, providing them with valuable knowledge through various modules, which included three in-person sessions and three talent labs. These sessions were designed to enhance leadership skills, examine successful international case studies, and develop business acumen. The primary objective of these components was to prepare participants with skills relevant for the future and empower them to implement global best practices in their fields.

Additionally, he noted that the programme included a visit to Japan, where participants had the chance to explore various educational and entrepreneurial institutions and interact with young Japanese leaders to share ideas and experiences. During this visit, critical topics were addressed, including rapid technological advancements, effective change management strategies, fostering creativity and innovation in the workplace, and adopting sustainable leadership practices. The trip aimed to broaden participants’ perspectives, enhance their understanding of global experiences and cultures, and inspire them with new insights and innovative ideas applicable to both their professional and personal endeavors.

Maryam Al Toubi, a participant in the FLP programme, characterized her experience as an extraordinary and transformative journey that allowed her to explore new horizons while addressing professional challenges. The programme's extensive educational modules and inspiring talent labs provided her with valuable insights and practical tools that significantly enhanced her leadership skills and refined her strategic vision.

Throughout six months of intensive, hands-on learning, the programme skillfully integrated strategic insights with practical, real-world applications.

He elaborated, “The primary emphasis of the program was on transformational leadership, equipping us with the necessary tools to address challenges from a comprehensive perspective, ensuring that our daily decisions align with a sustainable vision for the future. This experience transcended traditional education; it served as a dynamic laboratory where I could assess my adaptability to changing environments and devise innovative solutions to meet current demands. A particularly notable aspect of the program was the innovation labs and interactive dialogue spaces, which provided me with a priceless opportunity to collaborate with leaders from various sectors, sharing ideas and insights that will influence my leadership approach in the future.”
