ROP Wins Government Innovation Award

Dubai: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has won the Arab Digital Economy Award 2025 in the Government Innovation category for its electronic customs system Bayan at the Digital Economy Conference and Exhibition (Seamless Middle East 2025), which began on Tuesday at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, presided over the occasion. Brigadier Said bin Khamis Al Ghithi, Director General of Customs, and Colonel Abdullah Said Al Kalbani, Director General of Information Technology, represented the Royal Oman Police in receiving the prize.

The prize recognizes individuals, organizations, and projects that make significant contributions to the development of the digital economy, the creation of technological solutions, and the support of smart transformation systems in accordance with sustainable development targets and international standards.

This award recognizes the Royal Oman Police's efforts in digital transformation and its proactive role in building the Sultanate of Oman's technical infrastructure in accordance with Oman Vision 2040.

The Bayan system is one of the best examples of government digital integration in the area, since it has expedited company operations and simplified customs processes through the use of artificial intelligence technologies, while also improving the efficiency of customs services and international trade movements between Oman and other countries. The system has over 495 electronic services that connect to 74 government and private organizations.
