ROHM Audience Thrilled To Watch Raymonda Ballet

Muscat: Over the weekend, the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) had the honor of hosting the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow for three enchanting performances of Raymonda, a ballet composed by Alezander Glazunov.

Raymonda, a romantic ballet set in a bygone era, featured a grand stage and a magnificent corps de ballet, accompanied by the talented musicians of the Bolshoi, led by conductor Pavel Sorokin. The ballet was showcased over two evenings and one matinee performance, all of which played to a packed audience.

The spectators were captivated by the production, as they witnessed a beautiful love story unfold on stage, with choreography that seamlessly blended Eastern and Western dance traditions.

This artistic collaboration between Russia and Oman marks a significant moment of creative unity between the two nations.

Andrei Kostin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Bolshoi Theatre, expressed his pride in the Russian ballet, stating, "Russian ballet is an essential part of global civilization and culture. The Bolshoi Theatre's visit to Muscat reflects the strengthening bonds between our amicable relations with Oman and the Arab World. We are honored to perform at the Royal Opera House Muscat, which serves as a platform for the world's finest artists and acts as a vital intersection point for the cultural traditions of the East and West."

The opera house has always exemplified the ability of music to transcend boundaries, acting as a cultural bridge for global artistic talent. Umberto Fanni, Director General of the Royal Opera House Muscat, expressed his privilege in welcoming the esteemed Bolshoi to their stage. He stated, "At the Royal Opera House Muscat, we have consistently presented the world's best performances from the finest companies. It is our mission to ensure that the people of Oman have access to the highest standards of musical arts. The Bolshoi represents a tradition of excellence, renowned worldwide for its ballet and orchestral programs."
