ROHM Announces New Education And Outreach Initiatives For February

Muscat: The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) has unveiled its lineup of events for the month of February.

Among the diverse range of activities, attendees can enjoy instrumental concerts in Absolute Music on February 12. Additionally, there will be two free admission concerts at the Royal Opera House of Musical Arts, showcasing the piano and violin as concert instruments.

The artists performing in these concerts will also be conducting master classes for music students in Oman.

Furthermore, on February 11, there will be a book presentation of ‘The Violin Revealed. The History, Techniques, and Secrets of Italian Violin Making from Stradivari to Today’ by the authors in the Music Library.

In the first 10 days of February, the opera house will immerse itself in Shakespeare, coinciding with the production of 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' in the main program. ‘Play Your Dream – Exploring Shakespeare’ is a comprehensive project featuring lectures, workshops, activities, and events that will bring the works of the bard to life for readers of all ages.

For a complete list of activities, please visit the opera house website. The Open House event on February 24 will follow the established format of a day filled with activities held throughout the opera house. Titled ‘Making Instruments’, this event welcomes everyone to learn about the art of creating music from various objects and the craftsmanship involved in making musical instruments that resonate with beauty.

The opera house is set to launch a new initiative called 'Building Bridges - Creating Community Connections' at the end of the month. This initiative aims to make opera and music more accessible to a wider audience in the community, particularly those who may find it difficult to visit the opera house.

To achieve this, concerts will be held at various locations such as Sultan Qaboos University Hospitals, the Children's Centre, and the Autism Centre of Muscat. These concerts will create unforgettable moments that will inspire and leave a lasting impact on the audience.

In addition to its mission of providing enrichment and fostering global cultural partnerships, the opera house has always prioritized initiatives that engage with the community. These initiatives are at the heart of the season's activities and program.

The Royal Opera House Muscat is dedicated to inspiring people of all ages to explore new musical genres and artistic opportunities. It aims to stimulate personal growth and foster a sense of community among its audiences. The community of Oman, as well as the wider region, benefits from a world-class platform that offers exceptional performances and strives to captivate and enrich everyone.
