Muscat: The Rajasthani Division of the Indian Social Club (ISC), Oman, continues to illuminate the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan within the diverse fabric of Oman's community.
The Rajasthani Division orchestrated a grand celebration of the traditional Rajasthani festival, Shravan Utsav - Teej, on the 16th of August, 2024, at the Haffa House Hotel.
The event was a tremendous success, with approximately 80 women from the Rajasthani community in attendance, participating actively in the festivities. The program was replete with cultural activities and celebrations that showcased the rich traditions of Rajasthan, complemented by a feast of sumptuous food.
Teej Festival
The Teej festival is a magnificent celebration, elaborately observed in Rajasthan. It is a festival where all rituals and customs are performed by the women, adorned in their finest attire for the occasion. They engage in prayer and fast throughout the day for the health and well-being of their husbands and families. Teej festival not only celebrates the union of love but also pays homage to Nature, its abundance, the birds, the flowers, the monsoons, and the clouds.
The Rajasthani Division is dedicated to enhancing the cultural tapestry of Oman through the organization of more such events and initiatives that highlight the traditions, art, and music of Rajasthan. The division expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Social Club, its members, supporters, and the wider community for their continued support.
The Coordinator of the Rajasthani Division, Sudha Pankaj Joshi, commended the efforts of the team, particularly the volunteers for their steadfast support in organizing these events.
