Muscat: On Monday, the 50th anniversary of its inception, the Specialised Air Training Centre of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) was the focal point of celebration.
The event was conducted under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence.
The festivities, taking place at the Specialised Air Training Centre located at Seeb Air Base, commenced with the unveiling of the centre's golden jubilee logo.
A visual presentation was introduced during the ceremony, detailing the evolution and development stages of the Specialised Air Training Centre. This was seamlessly followed by the publication launch of a book titled “Specialised Air Training Centre, 50 years of resourcefulness: 1974 – 2024”.
The event also marked the release of a postage stamp commemorating the Centre's Golden Jubilee.
The chief guest had the opportunity to explore the exhibition, which highlighted various innovations and inventions.
Since its inception in 1974, the Specialised Air Training Centre has undergone numerous transformations. Initially known as the “Technical Training School,” it has progressively adapted to meet the evolving missions entrusted to it.
The Specialised Air Training Centre plays a pivotal role in providing the Royal Air Force of Oman with highly qualified personnel who adhere to the highest standards of excellence.
