Omran Group Likely To Invest $3 Billion In Tourism Projects Over 5 Years

Muscat: Omran Group plans to invest $3 billion in several strategic tourism projects over the next five years, aligning with the goals of the Oman Vision 2040. According to Dr. Hashel bin Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of Omran Group, this investment is a testament to the Group's continuous commitment to developing the tourism sector's infrastructure. Their focus is on creating sustainable tourism destinations to diversify income sources and drive economic growth.

Dr. Al Mahrouqi further highlighted the Group's achievements in attracting approximately $2 billion in foreign investments to finance crucial strategic tourism projects. He emphasized the pivotal role played by the National Travel Operator's platform in promoting local tourism products and experiences, as well as connecting them to targeted markets to boost inbound tourism growth.

Regarding Omran Group's participation in the Berlin Travel and Tourism Exchange 2024, the CEO expressed their objective of showcasing current and future projects, highlighting available investment opportunities, and contributing to the tourism landscape of the Sultanate of Oman. Their aim is to attract more tourists and investors to the country.

Dr. Al Mahrouqi also shared that their efforts have resulted in a significant 38 percent increase in tourist arrivals during 2023.
