Oman’s Pavilion At ITB Berlin Convention Opened

The Sultanate of Oman's pavilion at ITB Berlin 2024 was inaugurated on Tuesday, with the participation of approximately 70 companies, tourism establishments, and hoteliers. The pavilion serves as a platform to showcase Oman's diverse tourism attractions and landmarks across different regions, as well as the services provided by travel and tourism companies to inbound visitors.

This event also presents an opportunity for Oman to explore potential investment prospects within the tourism sector. Exhibitors have dedicated galleries within the pavilion to showcase adventure tourism, Omani culinary arts, and products from small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The opening ceremony of the Omani pavilion was held under the patronage of Kai Wenger, the Mayor of Berlin. Distinguished guests in attendance included Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Azzan Qassim Al Busaidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Oman's Ambassador to Germany, and several German officials.

The Minister of Heritage and Tourism expressed his anticipation that Oman's participation in ITB Berlin will result in a 15-20% increase in the number of German tourists visiting the country. He emphasized that the Ministry, in collaboration with its partners in the tourism sector, offers programs that cater to various segments of visitors to Oman.

Maitha Al Mahrouqi echoed similar sentiments, highlighting that Oman's exceptional tourism attractions and services consistently attract visitors from European countries, particularly Germany.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Ayman Ahmed Al Hosni, the CEO of Oman Airports, stated that the company is actively working to attract more international airlines to Oman through various initiatives, including meetings with representatives from partner firms participating in ITB Berlin.
