Riyadh: On the second day of Oman’s involvement in LEAP 2025, taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 9 to 12, nine cooperation agreements were established between Omani tech startups and global firms, with a combined value exceeding $10 million.
The agreements were formalized at the Oman Pavilion, attended by Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary for Communications and Information Technology at the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, along with various CEOs from both public and private sectors, as well as representatives from Omani and Saudi companies engaged in the agreements.
Global Semiconductor & Microelectronics (GSME), a company founded in Oman through an international collaboration, entered into an agreement valued at around $10 million with the Saudi firm e-Photonics. This partnership aims to enhance cooperation, facilitate knowledge sharing, and advance research and services in semiconductors, electronics, and 3D computer vision technologies.
Additionally, the Omani firm DataMining secured an agreement worth approximately $1 million with the Saudi company AlJazeera Falcons, focusing on software development, artificial intelligence, and the creation of electronic products tailored for the Saudi market.
Reflecting the growth of Omani tech startups in global markets, several companies under the Oman Information and Communications Technology Group (ITHCA Group) successfully established agreements with international entities.
Mubasher, a company that specializes in digital advertising screen solutions, signed an agreement valued at about $1 million with the Saudi firm OOMCO.
Furthermore, Osos, one of the companies within the ITHCA Group, finalized six agreements with international firms in areas such as software solutions, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, applications, and technical support.
