Muscat: The Omani Culinary Arts Festival, orchestrated by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism within the Wilayat of Salalah, has commenced in alignment with the Dhofar Khareef Season 2024.
This festival, scheduled to conclude on August 26, features a diverse array of activities. Among them are live performances by renowned Omani and Gulf chefs, attracting a multitude of cooking aficionados and influencers from both within and beyond the Sultanate of Oman. Additionally, the festival encompasses various sections, including the Little Chef Corner, traditional music folklore shows, competitions, and a dedicated area for farmers and local products, alongside a section for gifts and souvenirs, and restaurants serving authentic Omani cuisine.
This event is part of the "Food Tourism and Omani Culinary Arts" initiative, designed by the ministry to showcase Omani cuisine as a means to foster economic, social, and environmental sustainability, while also leveraging tourism to bolster local communities and create business opportunities for small and medium enterprises.
It is important to highlight that the Omani Culinary Arts Festival is committed to promoting tourism and elevating food tourism, particularly in Omani culinary arts and cuisine at the local, regional, and global levels, through specialized forums, festivals, and events focused on food and culinary arts.
The inaugural ceremony of the festival was graced by His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
