Oman Welcomes UN Resolution Demanding End To Israeli Occupation Of Palestine

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its appreciation for the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the draft resolution concerning the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice regarding the legal implications of Israeli policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.

The Foreign Ministry further elaborated: "The Sultanate of Oman views this decision as a significant milestone in endorsing the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital."

Additionally, the Sultanate of Oman underscored the imperative for the international community to uphold the principles of international law and pertinent United Nations resolutions, with the aim of contributing to the cessation of the Israeli occupation and the attainment of a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region.
