Oman, Saudi Arabia Launch Joint Tourism Programme

The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have jointly launched a tourism cooperation programme in Berlin, showcasing collaborative efforts to attract tourists from major global markets.

Represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Oman participated in the programme, while Saudi Arabia was represented by the Saudi Tourism Authority.

Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and Ahmed Al Khatib, Minister of Tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, officially launched the programme on the sidelines of ITB Berlin.

This initiative is a result of a strategic partnership agreement signed earlier by the two countries.

Azzan Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, highlighted that the cooperation programme reflects the directives of the leaderships of both countries. He mentioned that this programme is the first set of partnership initiatives announced in May 2023, with more related initiatives to be announced gradually within the framework of Omani-Saudi bilateral tourism cooperation.

Al Busaidi also mentioned that the cooperation programme includes the development and implementation of innovative tourism packages, managed by Saudi Arabia’s official tourism identity "Visit Saudi" and the "Visit Oman" platform.

The initiative is leading the way in transforming the tourism industry, offering distinctive experiences for tourists, driving economic development, and strengthening bilateral ties.

Saudi Arabia and Oman are working together through these initiatives to progress towards the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and Oman Vision 2040.

Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Germany, was among the dignitaries present at the inauguration event.
