Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman secured the 74th position on the Global Innovation Index for the year 2024, among a total of 133 nations, following a comprehensive assessment based on seven criteria.
The Sultanate of Oman demonstrated its zenith performance across two critical areas: "Human Capital and Research," and "Infrastructure."
The report, disseminated by the World Intellectual Property Organization, delineated the Sultanate of Oman's ascent to the 59th position in the innovation input ranking, an elevation of six positions. Furthermore, Oman was positioned among the top 20 nations in three distinct sub-indicators.
In terms of policy stability for conducting business, Oman achieved the 12th position on the "Policy stability for doing business" sub-indicator. Additionally, it secured the second position on the "Graduates in Science and Engineering" sub-indicator. Regarding the "Electricity Output" sub-indicator, Oman was ranked 16th globally.
