This significant technological event in the Middle East features participation from eighteen countries, 1,800 exhibitors, 630 emerging technology firms, and over 1,000 speakers from around the globe, running from February 9 to 12, 2025, under the theme "Into New Worlds."
For the third consecutive year, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is overseeing the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the LEAP Exhibition and Conference, which showcases 47 government and private technology enterprises.
This year, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, represented by the “Invest Easy” platform, along with nine government entities, including Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) and Oman Information and Communications Technology Group (ITHCA), as well as 37 Omani technology startups, are participating in the pavilion. Their goal is to facilitate the entry of their technological products and services into regional and global markets while promoting digital investment opportunities in Oman.
Oman's involvement in this year's LEAP conference is marked by the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between Omani technology startups and international companies and institutions.
The inaugural day featured the signing of a US$10 million agreement between the Global Semiconductor and Microelectronics Company (GSME), which was founded in the Sultanate of Oman through an Omani international partnership, and the Saudi firm e-Photonics. This collaboration aims to advance the fields of semiconductors, electronics, and 3D computer vision solutions. The partnership will focus on knowledge sharing, collaborative research and development, and ensuring quality and reliability in the creation of innovative semiconductor solutions.
The opening ceremony for the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the LEAP 2025 Exhibition and Conference took place under the auspices of Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shaidhani, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications.
