Premier League: Alexander Isak Reveals "Biggest Motivation" To Join Liverpool

Premier League: Alexander Isak Reveals

Newcastle's squad for their preseason tour to Asia was missing a key player due to a thigh injury. He also missed the friendly match against Celtic because of uncertainties regarding his future. As rumors intensified, he made a shocking statement, asserting that Newcastle had betrayed his trust.

He began training apart from the first team and was absent from Newcastle's initial three matches. The transfer eventually took place after Newcastle secured a replacement for Isak. For the 25-year-old, the choice to join Anfield was straightforward: the club's rich history, the chance to be part of it, and the opportunity to elevate his game.

"I believe it's a combination of what the club is developing and building upon its existing legacy. The club's history is significant. Being given the opportunity to contribute to this, I aspire to create history. I aim to win trophies," Isak stated, as reported on the club's official website.

"This is ultimately my greatest motivation, and I feel this is the ideal environment for me to further develop and enhance my game while also supporting the team. Absolutely. I see this as the next step in my career. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and highly motivated to make the most of it," he continued.

Isak has scored 54 goals in 86 Premier League appearances for the Magpies. Of those, 23 goals were netted last season, placing him second behind his current teammate, Mohamed Salah, in the Golden Boot race.
