Oman Participates In GCC Information Ministers Meeting In Doha

Doha: The Ministry of Information, representing the Sultanate of Oman, participated in the 27th GCC Information Ministers meeting held in Doha, Qatar.

Heading the Omani delegation was Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, the Minister of Information.

The ministers engaged in discussions regarding important matters concerning the collaborative media efforts of the GCC across various platforms, such as radio, television, electronic media, and news agencies. The meeting also focused on proposals and initiatives put forth by GCC countries to enhance media coverage.

The ministers reviewed reports submitted by two GCC institutions: the Joint Programme Production Institution (JPPI) and the Gulf Radio and Television Corporation.

Throughout the meeting, the ministers endorsed several proposals and initiatives presented by the Sultanate of Oman. These included a Media Awareness Plan that outlines strategies to uphold moral values, promote socialization, and reinforce Gulf values and identity. Additionally, Oman proposed the development of a "digital initiative for children in GCC states" and a study on radio and television programs aimed at forecasting joint media messages.
