Muscat: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Department's (CDAA) hazardous materials team in North Al Batinah has successfully contained a sulfur dioxide (SO₂) gas leak in a laboratory of a business in Sohar Wilayat.
According to authorities, the event was quickly handled with no reported injuries. The emergency response crew moved quickly to secure the location and neutralize the leak, protecting public safety.
Sulfur dioxide is a toxic gas with well-documented negative effects on human health and the environment, especially in high concentrations or with prolonged exposure times.
