Bandar Seri Begawan: The participation of the Sultanate of Oman was graced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, during the Brunei Darussalam Book Fair (Pesta Buku Brunei 2024), which was held from November 2 to 11, 2024, in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The Sultanate's involvement in this event was strategically aimed at strengthening cultural bonds with Brunei and commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Furthermore, the event underscored the commitment to fostering sustainable cooperation, with a particular emphasis on cultural sectors, which are recognized as a pivotal medium for communication and knowledge exchange.
The manuscript section of Oman's pavilion witnessed a significant increase in visitor engagement. This section featured a collection of rare manuscripts that shed light on the cultural heritage of the Sultanate of Oman and the nation's contributions to the intellectual landscape.
In addition, interactive workshops were conducted as part of the event, focusing on the traditional art of Arabic calligraphy. These workshops provided an opportunity for attendees to grasp the fundamentals of ancient writing and related artistic practices, thereby reflecting Oman's dedication to preserving and transmitting such cultural legacies to future generations.
