The Sultanate of Oman commemorates the anniversary of Armed Forces Day on 11 December each year. This significant event symbolizes the remarkable achievements of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) in training, operations, and armament, all under the Royal Care and guidance of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.
Under the wise leadership of His Majesty, the armed forces continue to fulfill their vital national roles and responsibilities, ensuring the security and stability of the Sultanate of Oman in alignment with the development plans outlined in the Oman Vision 2040.
Since the beginning of the blessed renaissance, initiated by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour, the SAF has witnessed notable advancements and modernization. These advancements serve as the foundation for the SAF's unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation's achievements and sanctities, while actively supporting the country's development plans and collaborating effectively with other government institutions in various circumstances.
To commemorate this momentous occasion, the SAF organizes diverse activities across its formations and units, paying tribute to this glorious anniversary.
