Oman Condemns Israeli Airstrikes On Lebanon

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has unequivocally denounced and condemned the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) airstrikes on territories belonging to Lebanon.

Oman has highlighted that such actions represent a grave escalation, which not only undermines the security and stability of the region but also contributes to the proliferation of conflict, thereby involving the region further into violence and instability.

In a formal statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Oman has called upon the international community to intervene and put an end to this Israeli aggression, ensuring compliance with international law.

Furthermore, the Sultanate of Oman has shown its solidarity with the Lebanese Republic and extended its condolences to the families of the victims, expressing wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured. Oman has firmly rejected any violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty or territorial integrity.

The Israeli Defense Forces have reported targeting dozens of Hezbollah positions overnight following an attack on southern Lebanon by Israeli forces on Monday. Lebanese authorities have reported that the Israeli strikes have resulted in the deaths of nearly 500 individuals.

Hezbollah has retaliated by targeting several Israeli military installations, including an explosives factory located within Israel.

In the aftermath of these escalating tensions, tens of thousands of residents from southern Lebanon are fleeing the area, cramming themselves and their belongings into vehicles, leading to significant traffic congestion as they make their way towards the northern regions of the country.

The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified just days after the militant group’s leadership was targeted by explosions on their electronic devices.
