Oman Air Ranked Second In World For Best In-Flight Food

Muscat: Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, has consistently been recognized as a symbol of hospitality within the aviation industry.

In recent times, the airline has been acknowledged as the second-best in the world for its in-flight dining services.

This distinction was earned following an analysis by MoneySuperMarket’s travel insurance team, which reviewed over 27,000 passenger reviews regarding meals across more than 100 airlines.

Kuwait Airways secured the top position with an outstanding average score of 8.58 out of 10 across all cabin classes. Their menu offerings span from elaborate multi-course meals available in economy to luxurious lobster and beef dishes offered in their ‘Royal Class’ service.

Oman Air closely followed with a score of 8.44, while Middle Eastern Airlines claimed third place with a score of 8.39. The remaining positions in the top five were occupied by Air Algerie and Air BALTIC.

Oman Air has received commendation for its provision of delectable meals to passengers thousands of feet above the ground. The airline's commitment to enhancing the in-flight dining experience includes a wide array of dietary options.

Middle Eastern airlines have dominated the top rankings in the food service category. Airlines such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad, and Gulf Air have also garnered impressive scores, highlighting the region's excellence in delivering superior in-flight dining experiences.

The survey further identified airlines with the highest number of reviews. Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and British Airways were among the most highly rated by travelers. Among these, Turkish Airlines achieved the highest score (7.8) in the review process.

The quality of the in-flight meal service plays a crucial role in the luxury experience, particularly on first-class flights, which are priced three to four times higher than economy fares.

Many first and business class airlines, including All Nippon Airways (ANA), offer an additional on-demand menu in addition to their standard meal service, allowing passengers to select their desired dishes at any time.

For those in pursuit of the finest first-class dining experience, Swiss International Air Lines stands out, scoring 9 out of 10 according to passenger feedback. Other airlines that have excelled in the first-class meal rankings include Qantas (8.8), Lufthansa (8.7), China Airlines (8.6), Etihad Airways (8.4), and ANA (8.2).

For travelers on a budget, Air Algerie (7.9) emerged as the leader in the passenger food rankings for economy class, followed by Tarom (7.8), Turkish Airlines (7.6), Aegean Airlines (7.6), Emirates (7.5), and Etihad (7.5).

Oman Air’s achievement in securing the second position globally for its in-flight dining services is a testament to its commitment to excellence in providing a superior travel experience.
