MUSCAT: Indian medical students residing in Oman can now breathe a sigh of relief as the Indian government has made the decision to hold the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) 2024 in foreign countries.
This decision has been warmly welcomed by parents, as it eliminates the need for them to travel to India with their children, saving them both time and money. The National Testing Agency (NTA), an autonomous organization under India's Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education), announced this decision in a public notice issued on February 20. The notice states that the exams will be conducted in various foreign cities.
The notice reads, "Following the previous public notice dated 9th February 2024, in which the NTA invited online application forms for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) 2024, it has been decided that the exam will be conducted in the foreign cities as mentioned below." The notice then goes on to list the foreign centers for the NEET UG 2024 exams, which include Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah), Thailand (Bangkok), Sri Lanka (Colombo), Qatar (Doha), Nepal (Kathmandu), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Nigeria (Lagos), Bahrain (Manama), Oman (Muscat), Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), and Singapore.
