Muscat: The National Competitiveness Office (NCO) has released the second edition of the Oman Competitiveness Annual Report 2023.
This report meticulously evaluates the Sultanate of Oman's performance across various international indices, which the office diligently monitors to enhance public awareness regarding these global benchmarks.
It serves as an invaluable resource for both governmental and private entities, as well as researchers, interested in the comparative analysis of Oman's standing against other nations.
The report encompasses 14 critical international indicators, provided by esteemed global organizations and institutions, covering economic, social, political, and environmental dimensions.
Furthermore, it includes seven primary indicators, previously featured in the Oman Vision 2040 document, which have undergone thorough analysis and follow-up by the relevant authorities with the objective of enhancing their performance.
These indicators encompass global competitiveness, economic freedom, global governance, perceptions of corruption, environmental sustainability, global innovation, and network readiness. Additionally, the report delves into seven sub-indicators, analyzing the Sultanate of Oman's performance in these areas and referring the findings to the appropriate authorities for further action.
The compilation of this report represents the culmination of analyses and evaluations of all sub-indicators included in the international reports issued in 2023.
The NCO is committed to elevating the Sultanate of Oman's performance in international rankings, particularly those highlighted in the Oman Vision 2040 document.
In addition to monitoring and analyzing the Sultanate of Oman's performance in these rankings, the NCO submits periodic reports on these indices to the National Competitiveness Committee and the entities responsible for improving these benchmarks.
Cooperation is established with relevant departments to oversee the implementation of proposed improvements and the study of their impact on enhancing Oman's competitiveness in international rankings.
Moreover, the NCO engages in communication with international organizations to ensure the accuracy and currency of Oman's data shared with these entities.
