Muscat: The annual symposium on strategic issues, titled "Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability of Development," commenced on Sunday at the National Defence College, Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies.
The event was inaugurated by Maj.Gen Abdullah Ali Al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations.
The symposium covers various topics, with a particular focus on national challenges and artificial intelligence, as well as international experiences in utilizing AI.
Furthermore, it explores the significance of investing in AI technologies and their application in the fields of security, health, economics, and education, aiming to enhance the overall quality of life.
It is important to note that this symposium is part of the curriculum for the 11th national defense course, which will continue until 22nd February.
The symposium has attracted participation from several government entities in Oman, as well as academics and specialists from Arab and foreign countries.
