Muscat: Muscat Governorate celebrated the installation of Oman's highest flagpole, measuring 126 meters, under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, and in the presence of His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Hamidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality.
Muscat Municipality stated: "It is projected that Al Khuwair Square would become a notable landmark in Muscat Governorate, with its sustainable and environmentally friendly components inspired by Omani culture. It will also be an excellent place for leisure and outdoor activities, with new amenities that cater to the community's needs. "
The project covers an area of over 21,000 square meters and includes a high flagpole, as well as a range of leisure facilities, such as 9000 square meters of landscaped green areas.
It spans 57 square meters and has 57 kinds of trees, as well as dedicated walking and cycling paths, an open-air art and craft display, a skating area, and a sports zone.
The location also has public facilities including bathrooms and a 107-space parking lot.
