Muscat: The Ministry of Interior has announced that starting Monday, it will begin accepting applications from citizens who wish to run for the Municipal Councils elections for the Fourth Term.
This announcement was made during the Ministry’s participation in the 34th edition of the Global Technology Exhibition "COMEX 2025", which commenced on Monday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Interior Ministry clarified that citizens who are legally eligible and aged 21 years or older, wishing to register their names in the Electoral Register, can submit their applications through three methods: via the Election app, the elections website (elections.om), or the AI-enhanced virtual character located at the Ministry’s section of the exposition.
To ensure proper processing of the applications, the Ministry emphasized that applicants must have their identity cards equipped with the PKI electronic authentication system beforehand.
