Knowledge Forum Explores Steps To Exchange Expertise

Muscat: Yesterday, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation organized the Oman-France Knowledge Dialogue Forum at the University of Muscat.

The main objective of this event is to strengthen cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the French Republic, particularly through the exchange of experiences. It also aims to create opportunities for investment in higher education, research, and innovation.

Under the patronage of Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the opening ceremony of the forum took place.

In her speech, Dr. Rahma highlighted that the forum plays a crucial role in promoting the transition to a knowledge-based economy and achieving the goals set by Oman Vision 2040.

According to Veronique Aulagnon, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Sultanate of Oman, the number of Omani students studying at French higher education institutions has recently increased by 30%.

The forum included panel discussions on various working papers, as well as meetings between French and Omani universities. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to visit local universities.

During the forum, there was also a presentation on statistics related to French higher education institutions, including the number of international and Omani students studying at French universities.

Through this event, the Ministry aims to establish connections between Omani and French universities, facilitate the transfer of science and technology, and promote the exchange of best practices in research and innovation.
