Thimphu: On Monday, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan welcomed Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, at the Royal Palace in Thimphu, the capital city.
During the visit, the Foreign Minister extended the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the King, along with wishes for his continued health and wellbeing.
He also expressed the Sultan's hopes for ongoing progress and prosperity for the friendly people of Bhutan, as well as for the sustained growth and fruitful collaboration in the relations between Oman and Bhutan.
In response, the King of Bhutan requested the Foreign Minister to pass on his sincere sentiments and gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan, wishing him ongoing success. He also expressed his hopes for further prosperity and advancement for the Omani people, as well as for the enhancement of bilateral relations.
The meeting was attended by Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large, Essa Saleh Al Sheibani, Oman’s Ambassador to India and non-resident Ambassador to Bhutan, along with several officials from the Foreign Ministry.
