Japanese Embassy In Oman Hosts Ceremony To Confer Award

On the 7th of March 2024, the Embassy of Japan in the Sultanate of Oman organized a ceremony at the Crowne Plaza hotel to bestow the Order of the Rising Sun upon Mr. Harib Al Kitani, the former Chief Executive Officer at Oman LNG.

The conferment ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed guests from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the State Council, Oman LNG, Japanese companies, as well as Mr. Al Kitani's family and friends. H.E. Jota YAMAMOTO, the Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, had the honor of conferring the Order on behalf of the Government of Japan.

In recognition of Mr. Harib Al Kitani's exceptional efforts in fostering enduring partnerships and networks between Japan and Oman in the energy sector, which have paved the way for continued collaboration in clean energy and new business ventures, the Government of Japan announced the conferment of the Order on the 3rd of November 2023.

The Order of the Rising Sun, a highly esteemed decoration in Japan, was established in 1875. Since 1981, non-Japanese nationals have also been eligible to receive this prestigious honor.
