Japan Pledges Support For India's 2047 Goals

New Delhi: Japan has pledged its support to India in reaching its objectives for 2047, stated Japan's ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi, on Thursday. He emphasized that both nations are poised to expand in emerging economic sectors such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and information technology.

In an interview with ANI during the 48th Joint Meeting of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee (JIBCC) alongside its Indian counterpart, the India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee (IJBCC), Ambassador Ono Keiichi remarked, "Japan and India have been natural partners for over a decade, and we share a special, strategic, and global partnership."

He highlighted the robust investment and trade relations between the two countries, expressing confidence that these ties will flourish in new economic domains like renewable energy, AI, and IT. "Japanese companies are eager to forge partnerships and invest in Indian enterprises," he added.

Additionally, he noted Japan's commitment to fostering people-to-people connections, which he considers vital. "Japan will support India in achieving its goals for 2047," the ambassador reiterated.

On March 5, a delegation from the JIBCC, consisting of 17 members and led by Chairman Tatsuo Yasunaga, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The delegation featured senior executives from prominent Japanese corporations across various sectors, including manufacturing, banking, airlines, pharmaceuticals, plant engineering, and logistics.

Yasunaga provided the Prime Minister with insights ahead of the 48th Joint Meeting of the JIBCC and IJBCC, which took place today in the national capital. The discussions focused on critical topics such as high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing in India, expanding production for global markets with an emphasis on Africa, and improving human resource development and exchanges.

The prime minister conveyed his gratitude for the expansion initiatives of Japanese companies in India and their unwavering dedication to the 'Make in India, Make for the World' initiative. He also emphasized the significance of strengthened collaboration in skill development, which is a fundamental aspect of the India-Japan partnership.
