The inauguration of the permanent exhibition of archaeological finds in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate has provided an opportunity for visitors to explore a wide range of ancient collectibles and rare artifacts. This event coincides with the celebration of International Museum Day, which aims to raise awareness about the significance of museums in preserving our material history.
Ali bin Saeed Al Adawi, the Director of the Heritage and Tourism Department in the governorate, emphasized the importance of museums as a means of cultural exchange during this year's International Museum Day celebration, which carries the theme "Museums for Education and Scientific Research."
Saeed bin Salem Al Jadidi, the Head of the Antiquities and Museums Department at the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, highlighted that the permanent exhibition showcases a collection of rare artifacts, including pottery and iron pieces discovered in various governorates of Oman. The exhibition also features the participation of several private museum owners, such as the Nizwa Museum, the Gateway to the Past Museum in the Wilayat of Nizwa, the Currency Museum in the Wilayat of Al Hamra, and the Sharaf House Museum in the Wilayat of Jabal Al Akhdar.
The ceremony was inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Saleh bin Dhiyab Al-Rubaie, the Governor of Nizwa, who also honored the entities that have supported archaeological exhibitions and the owners of licensed private museums in the governorate.
