Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik graced the Al Alam Palace guesthouse with his presence on Tuesday evening, hosting an official dinner in honor of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
Before the commencement of the dinner, His Majesty the Sultan and President Tebboune engaged in the exchange of commemorative gifts, marking the occasion of the Algerian President’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
In recognition of the President’s contributions and to underscore the profound bilateral relations between the two nations and their peoples, His Majesty the Sultan bestowed upon President Tebboune the "Al Said Order," the highest honor of Oman.
In a reciprocal gesture, President Tebboune presented His Majesty the Sultan with the National Order of Merit “Athir,” Algeria’s most prestigious decoration.
Furthermore, His Majesty the Sultan gifted the Algerian President with a commemorative item, an Omani dagger.
In return, President Tebboune presented His Majesty the Sultan with an Algerian Sword as a token of friendship.
The evening was graced by the presence of several members of the Royal Family, ministers, chairmen of the State Council and Shura Council, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Royal Oman Police, undersecretaries, ambassadors at the Foreign Ministry, and several CEOs.
