His Majesty The Sultan Arrives In Jordan

Amman: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Wednesday for a two-day state visit.

King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan led the welcoming committee for His Majesty the Sultan. The Jordanian Monarch greeted His Majesty at Marka Airport in Amman, extending his wishes for a pleasant stay in Jordan.

Upon his arrival in Jordan, His Majesty the Sultan received an official reception. The Royal Airplane (Nizwa) was escorted by a squadron from the Royal Jordanian Air Force as it entered Jordanian airspace, symbolizing a warm welcome.

As His Majesty the Sultan disembarked from the Royal Airplane, a military choir performed, accompanied by a 21-gun salute in his honor.

Following the reception by the King of Jordan, both leaders proceeded to the airport square, passing through two rows of honorary guards from the Jordan Royal Guard.

Subsequently, His Majesty the Sultan exchanged greetings with prominent members of the welcoming committee, including Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein (Head of the accompanying Mission of Honor), Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein, Prince Mired bin Raad, Dr. Bisher Al Khasawneh (Prime Minister of Jordan), Faisal Al Fayiz (President of the Jordanian Senate), Ahmed Al Safadi (Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives), Mohammad Ghazo (Chief of the Supreme Judicial Council), Mohamed Al Mahadin (President of the Constitutional Court), Yousef Issawi (Chief of the Royal Court), Maj.Gen Yousef Al Hunaiti (Army Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff), Maj.Gen Ahmad Husni (Chief of the General Intelligence Department), Dr. Khalid Touqan (Special Advisor to the King), Jaafar Hassan (Director of the King's Office), Kanaan Balawi (Advisor of the King for Tribal Affairs), and Mohammad Karaki (Secretary General of the Royal Hashemite Court).

In his turn, the Jordanian Monarch greeted the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan, extending his wishes for a pleasant stay.

Afterwards, King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein escorted His Majesty the Sultan to the Dais of Honour, where the Royal Anthem of Oman was played, followed by the Jordanian Royal Anthem. Subsequently, His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by the King, reviewed the Guard of Honour, which paid tribute to His Majesty the Sultan.

Following this, His Majesty the Sultan and the Jordanian monarch proceeded to the Dais of Honour. There, columns of protocol guards sought permission to depart. They marched past the Dais of Honour, saluting the two monarchs, while military aircraft conducted a ceremonial flypast.

Next, His Majesty the Sultan exchanged greetings with members of the Jordanian government, senior Jordanian civil and military officials, and individuals from the Omani embassy in Jordan. He responded in kind to their well-wishes.

Subsequently, His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by the King of Jordan, boarded the motorcade that transported them to Basman Palace in the capital city, Amman.

As the motorcade left the airport gate, a group of children lining the road leading to the palace waved the Omani and Jordanian flags, symbolizing the strong ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Upon the arrival of the motorcade at Basman Palace, a fleet of crimson vehicles encircled the primary car carrying the two monarchs, in a symbolic re-enactment of a cherished Jordanian Royal tradition that signifies a warm reception for the esteemed guest of Jordan. Subsequently, a contingent of Royal Guard cavaliers enveloped the motorcade, serving as a visual representation of the heartfelt welcome and jubilation for the arrival of His Majesty the Sultan in Jordan.

The streets of Amman, the capital city, were embellished with the flags of the Sultanate of Oman and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Billboards were erected, and numerous Jordanian students and citizens gathered along the roadside, joyfully chanting phrases of welcome, expressing their immense pleasure at the momentous visit of His Majesty the Sultan and the distinguished official delegation accompanying him.
