Singapore: Today, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a formal welcome at the Istana Palace in Singapore during his State Visit to the Republic of Singapore.
President Tharman Shanmugaratnam stood at the forefront of the welcoming committee as His Majesty the Sultan's motorcade arrived at the presidential palace. He warmly greeted His Majesty and his delegation, extending wishes for a delightful stay.
Following the welcome, the President of Singapore escorted His Majesty the Sultan to the distinguished platform, where both the Omani Royal Anthem and the Singaporean Republican Anthem resonated through the air. Together, His Majesty and the Singaporean President proceeded to review the guard of honor, which paid tribute to His Majesty with a salute.
The two leaders proceeded towards the reception building, where His Majesty the Sultan graciously signed the visitors' book.
Following this, His Majesty the Sultan exchanged handshakes with esteemed members of the welcoming party, including Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of Social and Family Development, Dr. Mohamed Malki Bin Othman, Minister at the Office of the Prime Minister (Head of the Mission of Honour), Edwin Tong, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister of the Ministry of Law, Dr. Suan J. P., Chairman of the Economic Development Board, Julius Lim, Private Secretary to the President, Grace Ho, Press Secretary to the President, Kevin Cheok, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Tan, Head of the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Syed Nour Al-Din bin Sayed Hashim, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore to the Sultanate of Oman.
Subsequently, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam cordially greeted the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan. In order to commemorate the occasion, photographs were taken of His Majesty the Sultan and the Singaporean President.
Following these formalities, His Majesty the Sultan engaged in a productive bilateral meeting with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore at the prestigious Istana Palace.
At the start of the meeting, the President of Singapore reiterated his warm welcome to His Majesty the Sultan, who expressed his sincere gratitude to the President for the gracious reception and hospitality extended to him.
Throughout the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan and President Tharman Shanmugaratnam discussed the bilateral relations and various areas of cooperation. They expressed their strong desire to further strengthen the shared interests in a way that benefits the people of both nations.
Additionally, the two leaders exchanged their perspectives on the latest developments in the regional and international arenas. They engaged in fruitful consultations on matters of mutual concern.
The meeting was attended by official delegations from both Oman and Singapore.
