Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation has announced the commencement of the 2024 National Award for Research, inviting interested participants to compete. The 11th edition of this prestigious award can be contested from 12th May 2024 until 11th July 2024, as stated by the Ministry.
The primary objective of this award is to promote and encourage researchers to undertake high-quality scholarly research studies that address national priorities and publish them in specialized journals. By providing support to scholars, researchers, and innovators, the award aims to motivate them to conduct impactful research that offers practical solutions to both national and global challenges.
Furthermore, the award aims to nurture research talents, raise awareness about the significance of scholarly research, and facilitate the publication of national research papers in highly regarded scientific journals.
The National Award for Research is divided into two categories: The Best Published Research, which is open to individuals holding a doctorate (PhD) in the medical field or its equivalent (senior consultants, specialists, and other seniors); and The Best Published Research, which is open to junior researchers without a PhD.
