'Healthcare Model Development' Committee Explores New Initiatives, Programmes

Muscat: The Steering Committee, responsible for overseeing the progress of Oman's Healthcare Model, convened for its inaugural meeting under the leadership of Dr. Ahmed Salim Al Mandhari, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Planning and Organization.

During the session, the committee reviewed suggestions for creating a plan to execute executive initiatives and programs designed to achieve the goals of the healthcare model.

The discussion provided further insights into the healthcare model, recognized as a fundamental element of Oman's Vision 2040 health strategies.

The committee focused on specific criteria, including: (1) Developing the model's services by considering the needs and wishes of the community; (2) Implementing necessary reforms in the healthcare services system; (3) Creating a cooperative, inclusive setting with strategic goals to foster care that centers on the individual; (4) Engaging individuals and their families in the upkeep of their health; and (5) Ensuring all necessary healthcare services for the community are integrated into a unified healthcare system.

The meeting also sought to address existing disparities and tackle obstacles in the health sector, with the ultimate goal of fostering a society that experiences sustainable health.
