Muscat: Represented by the Directorate General of Khoula Hospital, a division of the Ministry of Health, a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing medical services, reducing the backlog of patients awaiting specialized care, and decentralizing certain services were inaugurated today.
The event was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, presided over by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, the Minister of Health.
Dr. Al Sabti emphasized the critical role of collaboration between the public and private sectors in the sustainable provision of health services.
He highlighted the significant challenges faced by the health sector over the recent years, attributed to an increase in morbid cases, yet acknowledged the positive outcomes stemming from the relentless efforts of healthcare professionals. Furthermore, he credited the government's initiatives and the support from private sector partners for the enhancement of healthcare services in Oman.
Dr. Rashid Mohammed Al Alawi, the Director General of Khoula Hospital, highlighted the collaborative projects between the public and private sectors, which included facility upgrades, the introduction of new medical equipment, and the localization of high-quality operations. He also mentioned that the General Directorate of Khoula Hospital received financial support from the General Directorate of Khoula Hospital over the last two years, amounting to RO 4 million.
Al Alawi further noted that the five projects were supported by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Al Yusr Charitable Foundation, OMIFCO, and Al Jisr Charitable Foundation, which provided funding and the acquisition of medical equipment.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Al Sabti extended his congratulations to both the government and private entities that have contributed to the projects at the General Directorate of Khoula Hospital.
